Take time this week to sit with these questions in prayer and reflection. Allow the scriptures to guide your thoughts and ask God to reveal the posture of your heart.

1. Am I trusting God in this season, or resisting growth because I feel comfortable?Scripture: “I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.” — Philippians 4:11

Contentment trusts God in every season, but it does not resist His direction. Reflect on whether your current posture toward life and faith is one of trust, or whether comfort has quietly made you resistant to change, correction, or growth. Ask yourself: Where might God be inviting me to grow that I have been avoiding?

2. Is my gratitude active, or has it become passive? Scripture: “But godliness with contentment is great gain.” — 1 Timothy 6:6

True contentment produces gratitude and a deeper desire to honor God. Complacency, however, can make us passive—grateful in words but stagnant in action. Ask yourself: Am I actively pursuing a life that reflects gratitude to God, or have I become comfortable with minimal spiritual effort?

3. Is my heart still responsive to God's voice? Scripture: “For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them.” — Proverbs 1:32

Complacency often begins when we stop responding to the gentle nudges of God—when conviction, prayer, or spiritual discipline no longer moves us the way it once did. Ask yourself: When God prompts my heart—through scripture, prayer, or conviction—do I respond, or do I ignore it because I feel settled where I am?

Encouragement for the Week: Take time to sit with these questions in prayer. Ask God to reveal the posture of your heart and guide you into a posture that remains both grateful and responsive to Him.
